Rebecca Roten is a lifelong Southerner with deep roots in the arts, starting from a childhood spent drawing and painting. Her passion for art led her to study graphic design at the University of Southern Mississippi, which launched a career spanning both boutique and corporate design, including national campaigns and a memorable collaboration with Maya Angelou. After stepping back from traditional work to raise children, she rediscovered her love for hands-on creativity through high concept baking and founded Sweet on Cakes, blending fine art, design, and baking into over a decade of edible art for clients.
Now, Rebecca’s focus in fine art is in pastel pencil, acrylic painting and the unique art of paper quilling. Her art forces a longer gaze. Her subject matter challenges you not to look away. Her work is always bold in either stillness or motion. She’s always exploring. She’s always creating. She’s never found the end of her curiosity.
